Sharing One Another’s Burden
Beloved! The Bible encourages us to share the burden of others. Lord Jesus Christ took our burdens on the cross and sacrificed Himself to give us eternal life. The world is languishing in darkness without any hope or way from it. It is we who have to share their burdens and offer prayers to the Lord on their behalf.
The Lord delights in such intercessory prayers and does a miracle immediately. When Job the devout man lost all his children, possessions, and his health, his friends judged him and spoke ill of him. But when he interceded for his friends, God forgave them and restored Job’s losses in double measure (Job 42:10). The Bible urges us to make an effective and fervent prayer that God should wipe away the tears of those who suffer in this world (James 5:10).
In a particular village there lived a couple in a village that shouldered the burdens of others and prayed for them. They would weep with those who were in sorrow and rejoiced with those who rejoiced. They loved everybody irrespective of their religion, caste or creed. They walked in the love of God and helped others to the best of their ability. The couple earned the love of the people and was held in high esteem. One day the husband fell gravely sik and died. Despite the great loss in her life, she continued to bear the burden of others in prayer. The Lord abided with her and made the villagers help her. She Lord was by her side and she never left lonely. She was a blessing to others till the end of her life.
Beloved! It is the Lord’s desire to share one another’s burden and pray for one another. The couple in the above incident shared the burden of the villagers and prayed for them. The Lord in turn caused the villagers to help the lady and care for her in return after the death of her husband. As the Bible says, “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2), let us carry others burdens to the Lord in prayer. The Lord shall greatly delight in us when we follow His command and bless us. He will do a miracle in others lives as well as in our life.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I thank You for taking my sorrows and burdens on the cross to give me a blessed life filled with joy. Teach me to carry others burdens to You in prayer and help me to get a solution from You. Use me as an instrument to take Your love to the people in distress and let them taste of Your love. Let Your goodness and mercy fill my life. I give You all glory, honour and praise.
